would pay for an upgrade to stantum resistive multitouch though. stylus would still be just as good.

Personally I think capacitive is a downgrade (for me, not starting a flame or whatsoever), it's just too oversensitive.
Multitouch is something I haven't seen the use of, except impressing people around you and I'm not that type of person, plus if it's essential to using the OS then one handed usage will be harder.

Multitouch is better for on screen keyboards I think.

Without it you need to lift your finger completely to input the next letter.

With it, the next key you press can start firing off immediately while your still pressing on the previous key, much like a hardware or computer keyboard would.

maybe the title of this post should be:

will you trade in your N900 for a N910 when its released?

since most of these update are sure to be in the new device.

Sorry but the stylus is completely useless when you have pinch to zoom capability. No question.

So to gain pinch to zoom I would absolutely upgrade to capacitive. Upgrading to AMOLED is always worth it too.

Don't agree at all - IMHO pinch to zoom is a flashy UI gimmick and is realy form over function.. admittedly it does LOOK very cool but when using websites not rewritten for mobile the use of the stylus is far more useful to me than pinch to zoom would ever be...

This would be good due to the impact on battery life but the n900 screen is fine as it is in every other way...

IMHO effective multitouch gestures has a lot of merit on a handheld mobile device, primarily because you can potentially represent multiple types of controls simultaneously (pan, zoom, tilt) without having to switch between the modes.

Moreover, when you're comparing it against stylus control; both of them already involve tying up both your hands on manipulating the UI.
