Nobody knows, and those that do aint sayin. My heart says it will happen, my head says the SDHC patches arrived just a little too late for the next firmware (assuming ~6 weeks QA).

Funny, you sound like you knew exactly when(what date and time) Nokia will release the next firmware.

Well according to Ari Jaaksi's 13 Feb roadmap he states "In a few weeks (I hope) we'll release a new version of the OS2007"

March maybe? April at the outside?

Neh. I'm waiting for 32GB cards. I'll then have a pocketable with more storage power than my previous pc -- and no decent PIM to put my addresses in.

2gb 4gb, now 16gb... where will it stop? when the processor wont be able to cover the space in a reasonable amount of time? where is the wall?

So with all this space would you really mind dedicating 2GB for OS. I wouldnt. This is a fully functional piece of equipment, once you get past the matchbox and hildon UI, built in limitations. Its like having a real computer, not just a neat toy. Flash could become a recovery tool/OS load tool. Just plug in your SD card and push the OS from the flash and reboot.

Imagine how many problems support nokia could eliminate. They could always boot to the flash and run diags with the user on the phone. If everything passes, tell them to put in the 128MB and test boot, some small test image. Everything works good, it must be your SD card. Tell them to format and reload, if that fails "contact your memory manufacturer".

16GB SDHC towards the end of the year, most likely. Won't be cheap.

8GB SDHC cards are fairly reasonably priced these days.

SDHC kernel.
