from what i understand looks like all menu will come on one page with an option of having something like third party software...not sure if we can choose the more frqeuently used apps to b left on the main menu..would b great if this happens

Yeah looks like the main applications are diplayed on one page and all third party software is accessed under one icon. Presumably it will display another page with all third party apps.
I wonder what Nokia is calling third party apps? Does the Ovi store come under that. Is it just the preinstalled apps that will be displayed on main page and every other app you install will go on the second page?

All devices upto the Palm Pre did that and they still had a segmented memory model !
You can use software like "hackmaster" to install hacks into the system (e.g. font smoothing). I did this when I used my Tungsten T3.


I like to think that things have moved on since then.

Sounds nice, but i think we have to be a bit careful here, because in this particular context the lines between a flowery usage of the word "Freedom", and an ideological trap can be pretty blurry.
Many drivers are closed source, and in the end this is a corporate forum.

Exactly. I came to this thread to see some nice screens of the long expected update 1.2, but all I got was words words, and more meaningless words. Oh and sentences. Lots and lots of unrelated sentences!
