of course with a "black teenage" accent
telling me i have £2250
and instructing me what to do

He phoned????

You need to put him on hold, tell him you are going to your PC to do it now, then just leave the phone off the hook! I actually miss being able to do that to cold callers hehehe They wait soooo long, bless them.

Even better is to then email the guy and tell him, you spent ages trying to do it, couldn't so went back to the phone to speak to the paypal employee to find they had hung up... What a shame, can he please phone pay pal, so they may then phone you again and this time he will be willing to spend even more time on the phone hehehe

This is unbelievable!!! These idiots will stop at nothing .....I mean do they really think people will fall for this stuff?.

You need to get hold of security at the address given by the scammer and let them know that their business premises are being used for this kind of thing - I would hope they would be very interested.

i asked him who is buying the car? amy cole or paypal??
he replied: WE, Paypal, are buying on behalf of amy cole. and then he goes on what to do next.. send money to his delivery agent or whatever..
I told him: I'm selling the car, y should I pay £300?
He tells the whole story again, still no answer

Amy Cole !! This name sounds familiar to me. Yes, I remember this person had send me mails to send money to him via WU when I was searching for a house. I nearly fell for him

Just google "Amy Cole scam" and you will see few scam mails.

Edit: Boy, they are so stupid, they don't even change names.

Heh. My school just did something like this to advocate internet safety. (As if we didn't know already...)

There were several fake people created on Facebook, who would attempt to get a date, and lead the "victim" to a Starbucks.

Those people got a nice little lecture once they got to Starbucks (Some actually showed up!)...

I knew what was happening from the start; 3 of those fakies friended me at the same time. Tsk Tsk.
