Me neither. I had no idea that pressing the power button when in the menu had any effect... I just never did it. How embarrassing! Making fun of a new user who doesn't know how to do it my way... and not knowing the power button thing myself.

And don't forget Ctrl + backspace if you've got the keyboard available.

um i tap absolutely anywhere there is no icon and that works for me and has done since about 5 minutes after i got this phone

Oh. Then Ctrl is only needed while you're in an application. Good to know.

EDIT: Just tried it on my N900, only backspace does not work for me.

Another MAGICAL tip:
If you press twice the power button you can lock the screen!!!
