I went to the Rhapsody site from my XP home computer and I signed up for their free account.
When I used that login information from N800's version of Rhapsody, I recieved "login error".

Nope, app manager still fails with the error "Unable to download. Application package not found".

Manually installing from xterm confirms the package "rhapsody" can't be found. Very peculiar, maybe it's a caching problem. Have now downloaded the .deb manually and installed from a file.

I just activated the 30 day free trial upon startup directly from the n800, I didn't use any external device.

Is Rhapsody just for streaming music? Can you download songs to the N800 for use when you are not online?

On your home computer you can have a free Rhapsody account.
On the N800, the Rhapsody account is free for 30 days then you must pay.
I was trying to log in with my free Rhapsody account information using the N800, no go.

Consider, though, that we're talking 2 separate clients/applications. The N800 is strictly mobile, so it's going to rely on an account type that supports that.

Terve,

Or get an American friend that has an American bank account. I live here in Finland but purchase everything via my bank, to include: iTunes, Amazon, etc.... It is a hassle the way they set this up though for non-US N800 owners.

Rhapsody has been around for quite awhile..I've been paying them something like 9.99/mo for the last 3 yrs or so and love the service. I signed into the Rhapsody acct on my N800 with my user name for my existing Rhapsody acct and it works fine. However the available catalog doesn't seem to be as complete as what you can get on a computer.

Cnet news article discussing a Real Networks announcment of Rhapsody-based partnerships with various CE companies such as TiVo, Nokia and Slim Devices... I seem to be the ideal customer for Real Networks as I own gadgets from all these companies! Such a shame I can't receive the service!!!
