I Agree with his statement... Not to mention Nokia is not even looking at the N900 anymore. I am now 100% i will move to Android before the year is over or next. Just waiting for some nice looking phones to come out. One other thing, july 21st, t-mobile is suppose to get the Samsung Galaxy S "Vibrant" you might want to look into that phone.

I disagree with the app quality being better on the iphone. A million apps does not necessarily mean good ones. I was trying to find an ftp client and could not find one. I was trying to find a spreadsheet app and the only free one restricts the cells that you can edit. I think that the quality of the few apps on the n900 is superior, albeit with not-so-good-looking ui, but you can do almost anything you can do on a pc. Also have in mind that the iphone does not have an accessible file system (dealbreaker for me) and that it has the proprietary connector. (Can't just stick any usb cable on it)

Can't do the same on the n900 either. It's a lot easier to find an iPhone cable than an n900 usb cable

seems like it depends where you are. All my friends and family have different brands of phones but 90% of them use microusb. It is now a standard and all the major phone companies except apple have agreed to use it

Whether a product is "finished" or not, it is really difficult to define and very much rest on the expectation of the user. IMHO, iPhone and others are phone with Interactive kiosk features, while the N900 is a general purpose computer with a cell phone module, gps module and camera attached.

So with a "kiosk", you are limited to offerings of what the manufacturer/vendors would give you. Your expectation is highly "managed" and, in theory, overall user experience would be and should be good to worry-free.

With a general purpose computer, you are the master of your domain() -- in the other word, the built-in "features" can be basic or even bad(depending user expectation). However, you are the Master after all, so there is ,in theory, nothing to stop you from making it(ie. the 'must'-have feature in your book) better. You can add the feature you want(limited by the hardware and your skill, of course). It will require effort and time from the user to yield the best experience and functions.

Note that I use a number of 'in theory' in my rant above, so the truth in everyday usage is somewhere in the middle not 100% black or 100% white

by July 21st, another company would have announced some phone that would more powerful cpu and etc; so you would be waiting forever for your next phone

if a phone has the list of features that are important to you , and it does not cost you an arm and a leg to buy it; then why not just jump in now.
