So for example mine is now set to:

/home/user/MyDocs/.videos/rec.ts

(Recorded video is located in the My Videos section of the My Documents on the N900)

Using file manager i locate the video file (located above)

Hope this helps.

I don't think so - it's all I get though. I've also tried recording, and the resultant file won't play as mplayer can't find a video file. I still need to try copying the file over to my laptop to check it there though.

Incidentally, there's a bug in the /opt/tvcplayer/tvcatchup.sh script where it tries to copy the mplayeropts file from /opt/tvcatcher/mplayeropts, so you'll either need to add a symlink from /opt/tvcatcher to /opt/tvcplayer, or edit the script.

EDIT: The file will play on the laptop (though not with VLC), but mplayer on my other systems can't handle it. It's looks to be an MPEG file containing an H.264 video stream, but no audio.

Mine does run through this script of downloading / caching but it does start playing the stream after 5-6 seconds.

Try another channel to be sure the one your are trying is currently working and also reboot your device to be sure your doing this fresh after an install.

Thanks for all the feedback. I'm currently busy with other things, but I'm hoping to correct the bugs highlighted here soon.

No, it is not normal. Each block should be around 500kb, and it should start playing after 5 or 6. Does it do that every time you try?

Strange. It sounds like it works for many others. Do you have the latest firmware?

Mine was doing the same yesterday, but is working fine today. I'd only tried one channel so there may have just been a fault with the stream at the time.

Hmm the player worked perfectly well yesterday but today just after it says Loading Playlist it closes saying Invalid Playlist File. I tried reinstalling but that didn't help. Any ideas?
