A little update on this: I've re-enabled the foreca widget but not the facebook widget. My N900 has been disconnected from all power sources since 08:30 this morning. It's now 16:00, and the battery widget on the desktop is still showing full.

Not bad. I'll point my finger at the facebook widget as sucking more power than it really needed to.
