Well that is just my opinion. I think 1.3ghz is simply to slow to run Windows 7, Windows Vista, Windows XP, or even some variation of Linux would take at least 60 seconds to boot. There is also the fact the Viliv is $650 and the Archos is $200.

Maybe I come from a different point of view - not even my laptop boots up in 60 seconds.

Agree on the price difference but the comment was on that it would be horrendously slow.

Well maybe it won't be to slow but it will be expensive. I also don't like how you can't really fit a umpc in a pocket.

Well I guess there different devices but the Archos 43 is a lot easier to carry and it is pocketable. Umpcs are generally considered a niche market product (even when compared to pdas and mids).

Well it seems like the Archos 43 has come close to defeating the iPod Touch http://electric-echoes.blogspot.com/...-internet.html and it certainly beets the Nokia n8x0 series devices.

Come close? Storage category ignored the microSD option (Archos only), and HDMI out wasn't even considered (Archos only again). Specs-wise, Archos blows the iPod out of the water.

Yah other than consideration of expandable storage, but the iPod Touch can do TV out keep that in mind but it can't do it through hdmi.

Also, there is no android marketplace on Archos tablets. Why have a device when there is no way to get at all the nice android apps.

Again can't blame Archos there not a member of the Open handset alliance, but there should be an easy hack.
