It's not the best smartphone, because... It's not a smartphone...
Actually, it's a really, dumbphone! (Seriously, but don't take it seriously)

It's a mobile computer... If you treat it like a smartphone, you won't get anything out of it, because a smartphone comes with almost everything on it by default (MMS etc etc)
But N900 is totally different:
Processor Speed
MMS
EasyDebian
...

Many other features, make it a mobile computer, which can be also a phone. If you treat it like a smartphone, it's not the best smartphone, because it's not a smartphone, and not the best phone, because not everything might be on it by default.

lol
It's funny how people can misunderstand each other, when they are not talking face-to-face!
N900 is great, I meant it's not like iPhone... If you buy an iPhone, speed is 1 GHz and that's it, while on the N900, you can change it to fit your needs, easily.
MMS, I meant you can't send MMS by default like smartphones, but you can install fMMS and do so... because N900 is a computer, before being a phone... So they don't have to add all features a smartphone has to it. But as it's a computer, you can do whatever you like with it... Even install an app and send MMS which many reviews say N900 doesn't support (They look at it as a smartphone)

Also, I have a question for the OP... What issues??

Yess... N900 might not the best smartphone.. Bcs its a computer... Meego would be more flawless in it... I heard next firmware support Meego... Just wait... May be 1st meego would be unstable at all.. But I'm sure that it would be fixed in the next firmware... So in my opinion n900 has no rival...

n900 is not the best or worst. like all other phones. If you looking for the best sartphone. Stop loocking. take some pills, drink a few bees to get up your self esteem.

And if you meet Iphone user. Always say that their phone is the best. You can really se how proud they are when they hear that. like they have achived some great. so stupid anf fun.

no phone is best. all phones are best.

please define best?

I'm a debian linux user for 5 years and I think the same too. My N900 totally integrates itself with my desktop linux locally and remotely. My bad experience with mobile gears was the infamous FAT file system that caused my data to be corrupted and devices need to be formatted at least once a year really wore me out and I searched and found N900.

N900 comes with MyDoc partition pre-formatted with FAT too. And it recognizes SDHC with FAT. I have got the latter part solved and it's now in ext3 format and stable. My next step is to get the internal memory to full ext3 or nilfs2 or reiserfs. Ultimately, I intend to have debian running on N900 which some projects I notices are in the work.

Cheers, fellow N900 users.

What he's pointing out is that if you ask about a product in a biased forum, you're clearly going to get biased answers. If you already had made up your mind, why bother asking?

I think what racky is trying to say is, there aren't any stupid questions. Just stupid people. :P
