Unfortunately even the announcement will be 2011 at earliest.

Still i'm at least as interested about the MeeGo tablet from Nokia as i'm about N9. Like some others here it's ARM what Nokia imo should use inside that tablet, but we will see.

Can't lie... I'm intrigued by this announcement. But I'm not in love with the Z-series moniker. It is the last letter of the alphabet. Hope that doesn't denote that it's the last of its kind from Nokia.

I wouldn't read too much into that. "Z" seems to have cool resonance with consumers (BMW, Chevy Camaro, etc) and there's a lot of numbers available after 500.

For Nokia the last letter in the alphabet would be Ö. And there's still room for Ä and Å before Z.

I knew I shouldn't have edited out my disclaimer that Z was the last letter of the English alphabet.

Well, the main binary-only programs in use on typical x86 systems are:
  • Skype -- but a (more integrated, less featureful) version for ARM should be included
  • Flash -- but a version for ARM should be included
  • WINE -- possible on ARM, but native would save qemu overhead
  • Various hardware drivers -- mostly irrelevant because the hardware cannot be attached; perhaps some USB peripherals?
Since most of the x86 software is open source, x86 has very little advantage.

I'm pretty sure it started as a joke or accident and went viral.
