I too am a female, though luckily no one has been harassing me at all. Though, it's probably because I know more about tech and computers than most people here and thus I am not all that easy to fool.

Oh, and I'm rather bad from my mouth if someone jumps on my nerves.

As for the topic at hand: it seems the best way to go is to install Pidgin (not the j2me thingie, ugh), and just use Pidgin to connect.

http://forum.mxit.com/viewtopic.php?...8c65fc1af662d1 has even a full PDF file with pictures for adding MXIT connection. It is aimed for desktop Linux, but with a few minor differences it should all work the same on N900's Pidgin.

There is(was?) also RevdKathy. I haven't seen any posts hassling her either.

Guess guys just like blondes. (Or at least blondes that declare that they are blonde.)

It's all in good fun

I've got Pidgin loaded, it's just not the full experience and thought that seeing as we have so many clever ppl on here someone might be able to figure out how it all works...

@ WreCatf - as girls have gotta stick together, hey?

At this stage we may need to ask for full-body a photograph of Vampyre holding his/her N900
Not wanting to be a language pedant but the word "blonde" (ending in "e") is one of the few words in English that actually indicates sex (apart from "woman", etc. obviously!). A man would describe himself as "blond". I guess this borrows from other languages.

But put your tongues away guys, it's only a girl! And Vampyre, surely you should know that framing a question in such a way as to suggest you're a helpless fair maiden would result in such a response from such a geek zone as here, dating site or not!

Maybe they just didn't know since your name doesn't really suggest it, but now that you've mentioned it, the cat is out of the bag...

Well, if the j2me version doesn't work in MicroEmulator there isn't really anything we can do. It doesn't seem like they provide an API for all the features they offer. I don't have any experience myself with MicroEmulator, but perhaps there's different kinds of phone models it can emulate or something and you could then get a j2me specific for that model?

I'm just throwing things out of my hat though as I have never used it. Pidgin still seems to most portable and easiest way of getting the basic functionality working.

Kind of, yes, I guess. Atleast I try to always help out fellow girls whenever I can. "Stick together" though is perhaps a poor choice of words in my case as I live in a real-life homosexual relationship :P (And yes, I know admitting it will cause a stir in these kinds of communities, but I don't really care.)

Hmm, meh. I just installed and tried MicroEmulator and... well. It's ugly as heck, and it's absolutely not touch-screen friendly :S I'd hate to have to use anything like that.
