As a person who has spent time replacing many many different mobile phone screens the drivers from one screen to another screen are pretty much the same, even the connectors are the same!
The problem would be the length/angle/shape of the flexible ribbon.
Perhaps the best candidate is the Nokia N8 or some other Nokia OLED phone.
It's very very likely that the screen will 'just work', but you just won't be able to fit it in without breaking the ribbon.
EDIT:
N8 and N900 connectors look same.

Really? What a good news!
Assuming that we can replace N900 screen with N8 screen, could the fact that N8 screen is a capacitive one be a problem?
