please my problem is a little different, my camera was working just fine, slide the camera shutter and automatically opens the camera application. All of a sudden, I attempted opening the camera by sliding the shutter, it didn't work. I opened the camera manually, it said open shutter when it was already open, but when I took off the phone's back cover, I went back to the camera application, it worked perfectly. Anyway to fix the problem? I really don't like taking off the phone back to take pictures.pls what do i do? help

Flashlight-applet gave an error that the camera was in use by another application.

I did:

sudo gainroot
apt-get remove fcam-drivers

and rebooted, and it was fixed. It seems that the fcam drivers weren't removed when I uninstalled Bless.

Hope that helps anyone who finds themselves in the same situation.

Came here when googling up why my flashlight-applet had stopped working, and interestingly, removing bless900 and fcam-drivers and rebooting fixed the issue. Not sure why they were interfering with the flashlight, but I'm glad enough to have it solved.

Both BlessN900 and Fcam-drivers shoudn't be interfering with the flashlight tool. I have all three programs installed (actually I installed Fcam rather than Fcam-drivers tool, which automatically depended on Fcam-drivers to begin with).

I am guessing it could be conflicting kernel modules or maybe old versions of the programs installed. I personally have these programs installed from extras-devel repository (I personally do not condone the use of any programs from this repository unless you are you have proper linux experience/knowledge and you are aware of the risks with using such repository) and have not experienced such issues.

I run kernel power42, with an older version of he Fcam-drivers because the latest ones wouldnīt work with blessn900. I experience the same problem but itīs easily solved by pressing the powerbutton once. The moment I do that the blank screen disappears, which had me thinking it might be a window focus problem or something.

no its not just some windows focus because when fcam driver is not working you wouldn't probably find /dev/video0 & /dev/video1
