I can't talk about what I don't know about. But letting a pragmatic fill Jobs shoes sounds like a needle in a balloon to me.

Clever? how is that clever? a lot of people are affected by cancer - whether directly or indirectly. I can take humour and am def. not out to enforce my views on others. Really don't think that was clever in any way.

It seems to me that Cook is excellent in maintaining efficient operation, but the lucrative deals (with the media industries, far east suppliers, etc) seems to be hammered by Jobs. The way that he seduced+strong armed the music industry toward online distribution seems to be due to his charisma/character/insanity, I doubt Cook will be able to do strategic moves like that.

I don't hate him I just don't see the big deal about a guy who repeatedly got his *** kicked by Bill Gates. It's only after Billy boy retired and freak of nature Ballmer took over did apple start seeing success. Steve used some pretty cut throat practices (itunes & widgets origins for instance) among other bully tactics and theft to get apple where they are now. So while he made Apple a success now it's something he couldn't do when Gates was around. Anyhow here's to hoping he can get better and start a foundation or something.
