First things first! Before you even fear doing something with gparted, get the N900 on its feet again with a healthy optfs.

Here is an overview about the operations you do with Gparted-Live-CD http://maketecheasier.com/resize-cre...ted/2009/01/06 Note that your steps to just resize two partitions are even easier to apply.
If you are looking for more information: Here is a quite complete guide to gparted http://www.dedoimedo.com/computers/gparted.html
Hi i want to ask if i install gparted can I split my SD card under win7?

You could install virtualbox from http://dlc.sun.com.edgesuite.net/vir...-73507-Win.exe then create a virtual maschine using http://netcologne.dl.sourceforge.net...ve-0.9.1-1.iso as boot media. You have to pass both the MyDocs partition and the unrecognized storage device to the virtual maschine in the USB section. The other setting do not really influence the process of resizing.

OK!

I could see in gparted "27 GIB MyDocs, 2 GIB ext3 Partition "home", linux swap 768 MIB and 63.97 Unallocated space"
I should click on "27GIB" Partition and "2GIB" ext3 and choose resize.. right?
What should i fell the spaces? "free space preceding"
"New size"
"Free space following"
Sorry for annoying again
Thanks in advance

Do not leave any space between the partitions, so the value for "free space preceding" and "Free space following" should be 0 Just use the sliders to the right to shrink the size of MyDocs and then the slider to the left to enlarge optfs(ext3).

Thanks for replying!
I';; do it at all, but i saw on the internet this problem is popular with FAT32 file systems , so i don't worry -if i am not wrong-
Like http://gparted-forum.surf4.info/viewtopic.php?id=14978

Is there another way to shrink it?
By command line for example?

Thanks in advance!
