my favourite browser is chrome. it is best too. it is faster. i even checked the browser speed through ScanMySpeed.com
I hardly ever use Opera or Firefox but this thread leads to the question: how can microB be improved? i.e. what's missing and can any of suggested features be added?
For me these would include:
- Browser mode switching:
- - there should be a mobile mode or something to help with text flow because although the whole desktop browsing thing is a good idea, sometimes stuff's just too small to see.
- - Equally, many sites interpret microB's UA string as a mobile browser, which it really isn't! (Hide User Agent String can help with this but it doesn't go all the way)
- css-interpretation: it's not unusual for objects to be trimmed and only partly displayed.
- improved support for html5 & css3 e.g. -moz-border-radius is now border-radius but the latter (correct) doesn't get implemented.
Not sure to what extent any of these (or other suggestions) can be implemented by importing/adapting newer Gecko engines?
Anyway, to go back to the question of best browser for Maemo5 - microB is the most complete, if not perfect; the other two main options seem Beta-ish in some areas.
Incidenally, how many options are there for armv7 Debian (i.e. capable of running EasyDebian/chroot)?
