Thanks for a great app. If the author desires financial support I prefer the app to be made a paid app rather than donate through paypal. Not everybody can or will donate so the donation method may leave some authors disappointed. Also a paid app has better chance of being upgraded and improved instead of being left to languish.

How come you're charging for open source software? Isn't this a breach of the license? Do you have the permission of the authors of Stellarium?

As I stated before Stellarium is GPL licensed. GPL license allows redistributing and selling, but you must provide source code to the users. Please read GPL license if you have any concerns about it.

OK, then please can you provide a link to your source without forcing me to pay for it?

I said "to the users". The license is related to the creator of the software and the user who use it, not to some third party, sorry.

Please can someone else post this app on a public site - it's quite legit and well within the terms of the GPL. I just want to see the souce code.

Q: If I distribute GPL'd software for a fee, am I required to also make it available to the public without a charge?

A: No. However, if someone pays your fee and gets a copy, the GPL gives them the freedom to release it to the public, with or without a fee. For example, someone could pay your fee, and then put her copy on a web site for the general public.
@Elemental - I'm not trying to stop you from getting revenue for your work in the changes you've made to the code etc, but you're also profiting from someone else's hard work. I think a donation method would be a much better way of doing it.

Of course you have right to do that. But could you read my posts instead of blaming me, as I said you should see it as a donation for EmuMaster mainly (for Stellarium also but mainly for EmuMaster).

Yup, I've read your posts and I'm not blaming you for anything.

It's not a donation - it's very clearly a fee that your are enforcing and profiting from. A donation is, by it's definition, a voluntary contribution.
