Please explain further, what will these guys be doing to achieve this? Porting all apps one by one? Or use some sort of an Emulator?
I don't see the light on this ACL idea...just to imagin of who will let us have all for free...i guess the developer might try it, but big tech imperialist's will shot developer instantly...dosn't it.
Maybe porting symbian belle and java kind of would have ben good idea...isn't it.

Openmobile's ACL, OTOH, would transform the N9's app experience overnight. Plus, many 3rd party developers only code for iOS and Android. Also, the newest and most feature rich versions of apps go to Android and iOS first, frequently leaving us with outdated versions, if we are lucky enough to get anything at all.
This can definitely be done--look at how well the Nitroid for Meego effort is going. If/when the ACL makes it to the N9, we will, without question, have the strongest app platform that Nokia has ever produced. And that can only be good news, IMHO. But if it's not your kind of thing, just don't download it. No harm done.
