Hi. That's an interesting point. So who officially owns the N950?

Not really. I think it's entirely safe to say that any reasonable period of time where penalty can be enforced has long expired.

You can find a few folks still actively developing, perhaps they need a device if you feel like contributing that way.

"Asking Nokia" will probably get you tossed to Microsoft where they'll just have a very simple answer - they're not supporting anything Maemo or MeeGo or prior Nokia devices at all.

Most questions to Microsoft about any of the above have been greeted with dead silence so far (my personal experience).

concur with my peerless peers.
A- ...There is no n950 committee or group or org. to send this back to...
B- ...the statute of limitations has most definitely run out.
C- ...since the big Microsoft Buyout ..no one who would have cared even "during" the statute...is long gone...and those agreements buried ..burned...forgotten...or locked in a time-release vault a billion years to open from now.

I don't think you have to be concerned.

(And as far as talking to MS goes...dead silence from them is for the best ...I doubt their form of "help" ( in whatever shape it comes for us)... would be a blessing.)

How about someone writing a letter to Nokia or Microsoft that goes like this.

Dear Nokia:
Thank you very much for loaning me the N950. I've had a great time developing on it but have now moved on to continue work on Android and IOS which are currently more popular OSs and are somewhat more relevant. As I no longer have time to develop on the N950 I would like to return the device to Nokia. Would you please inform me as to whom to mail it to. As a second option, please let me know if I may simply keep it as it makes a very stylish paper weight and can be the interesting subject of conversation with visitors who query its appearance on my desk..
Thank you again for the opportunity to develop on this device.
Sincerely
Your Name
