this is from the OSX system log as I tried to connect:

Mar 3 20:07:40 Macintosh blued[47]: addDeviceToHIDEmulationMode - unrecognized HID device; NOT storing the link keys to the module.
Mar 3 20:07:40 Macintosh blued[47]: isCSR: 1 isBRCM: 0
Mar 3 20:07:40 Macintosh blued[47]: major class: 5 minor class: 48
Do you know if OSX support combo devices ? (Keyboard and mouse)

I too can confirm that reconnect doesn't do anything. I have to use hidd --connect on the remote host again. Tested with Ubuntu Intrepid.
Can you explain the steps that you took for the reconnection ?

In some Linux System you must have the device in trusted list in order to reconnect.

Ah, how we all hate them bugs...

Anyway, BlueMaemo's reconnect feature seems to get screwed up when two "computers" have the same buletooth MAC address. For example, if I am in Vista, it will auto connect. If I boot into Win 7, it will auto connect if I manually reconnect once. If I boot back into Vista, I have to do it manually once again.
It didn't happen to me
Do you connect a first time in both systems ? or just used the reconnect ?
The OS need to store some info first in order to reconnect.

Try to pair the devices in order to the n8x0 become a trusted device.

1. Turn bluetooth on on both devices. Set the N800 visible.
2. In the Mac Bluetooth menu, click "Set Up Bluetooth Device."
3. On the N800, start BlueMaemo and click open connection.
4. On the Mac, select "Any Device." Choose the N810 and enter a passkey. Then enter passkey on N800.
5. Click "Continue" on the Mac dialog box. Uncheck headset and leave remote device checked.

The BT set up box confirms device set up. I close the box. On the Mac side, it indicates that they are connected, however, BlueMaemo indicates it is waiting for a connection.

Under the N800 profile I never see anything that refers to mouse

So even though no connection appears to have been establiched, I close BlueMaemo, restart BlueMaemo, click open connection & try to connect through the Mac's BT prefs: scroll down to N800 and select connect (the only other choice is send file). Still...waiting for connection. There are no other menu items for the N800.

I also tried setting up as a mouse and then a keyboard, but the N800 is not recognized under those set up menus.

In the profile info, services indicated are: BlueZ HID mouse & keyboard, OBEX Object Push, Headset Audio Gateway also is listed, which surprises me since I unchecked that box during set up.
I ended up with the same problem. My Mac says it has connected to my N810, but BlueMaemo keeps waiting for a connection.

I tried this on my Friends Mac (during a conference). Was going to use my N810 and his iPhone for presenting slides. Sadly, both did not work .

The N810 pairs fine with the Mac, but then it just waits for a connection. On windows and linux, I know how to instate the connection. But on Mac, there is no way that I can find that allows you connect. It seems that both devices are waiting for a connection.

I don't have my N810 with me (though I'm at my Mac), but it's always worked fine for me so far. I don't think I've tried reconnect yet, though I do have the version that includes it. If memory serves one of the times I set my N810 up just as a keyboard and once as an "Any Device." In both cases it worked.

The order that always worked for me, I believe, was to start BlueMaemo, then on the Mac (if, for the sake of argument, BT was off), turn on BT, then click the BT icon in the tray, under devices mouse over N810, and click Connect. After a few seconds the BT icon should get the dots over it indicating connection and the N810 should say "Connected to [hostname]."

Anyway, later I'll give it a try and verify everything still works.

My Apple indicates the connection with the 3 dots, but BlueMaemo has never gone past " Waiting for connection..." Not during set up nor any other time.

What OS do you have?
