Something I threw together tonight, could use a little refinement maybe:

Overlaid on "ae" of mamo.org to show how it loosely follows.
Edit: this is the female depiction of the Great Crested Newt. I wanted to keep it simple and the male's crest just adds too much.

I disagree. I don't think we need a mascot at all. While an interesting diversion to waste time on, nothing I've seen here has changed my opinion that it's not really ideal for maemo.org.
