Just spoken to someone at NFS Regent Street.

I got as far as "I bought an N900 from you earlier in the week and unfortunately it seems to be one of the small number of handsets that are suffering from random reboots", expecting to have to explain further, but the chap just said "Ah, yes, if you can bring it back we'll exchange it for a new one". No arguments or anything. Clearly they've had a few of these already.

Means I have to make another 4 hour round trip by train up to London, but at least I have my N900 - if I'd left my pre-order in place from October 25th I'd likely still be waiting.

Interesting. I've contacted MPD Salisbury where my N900 came from (the guy working there is very nice and helpful) in regards to random reboots issue, and asked whether it will be possible to replace my unit at NFS, rather than doing remote turnarounds. Salisbury guy followed that up with MPD's 'web team' and got an instruction for me to contact general Nokia Care helpline first, to confirm whether reboot issue qualifies for replacement (sic!).

However, seeing your experience I might give a call to NFS directly and ask them about this case.

No reboots today!!

I cancelled the automatic 3G connection, and no reboots at all today. 1 crash but it was no surprise after how we used it

I listened 2 hours of music through fm-transmitter, used web few times, send sms, calls, took pictures... NO REBOOTS!!!

I recommend to try this if you have reboots: after using connection, go to the desktop and click the battery/connection etc button in left up corner, then click the "internet-connection" and close it! So it says: "Not connected".

After that, no reboots at all

So I can easily use this device as my phone, and when using web, might have some boots, but it's not biggy. I can always change the phone when more comes...

Got a new one just yesterday. No reboot so far. It seems to run way more smoothly. My advice: get a new one. They're replacing for free so it is pointless to keep a defective device.

I've been to NFS, unfortunately they cannot handle anything that was processed through webshop. My only choice is to send it back and wait for replacement. :(

Plus, they currently don't have N900 in-stock within a store.

I both mine 2 days ago, the first day was terrible it rebooted every 5 minutes or less. Second day was better, only 3 reboots on the whole day, and after re-installing the software update it has only rebooted once in the last 2 days.

Seems to be a software issue.. but this is really bad and dissapointing =(

Im from Costa Rica running a 2G sim at the moment... already voted for the bug 6334

And I cant change it for a new one right now since I bought it in the US and Im probably going back until March...

By the way I have just called Nokia Care Center and they told me to have it replaced at the store where I bought it =(

They told me it was the first call they receive about this particular issue with the N900 (which I dont believe)...

Guys I got my phone yesterday and I had a lot of reboots... It eventually got
bricked

I reflashed the firmware... It seems that it's better now.. Been using it for
1-2 hours and it only rebooted once

Im pretty sure it has something to do with power saving because it happens when
I leave my phone idle for 3 secs to 1 mins.. I then press something on the
screen.. It turns on and the phone freezes.. After 2 secs it reboots

I really hope there is a fix for this because returning the device is very
annoying for me.. I live in Canada and got it from a US store and Im leaving
Canada for the holidays... its complicated and I have 1 week to return it

There is a Bugzilla report on the reboot issues. Nokia feels this is actually a number of different issues. Mentioned are: power management, xorg, WLAN, SGX driver, and memory corruption in the kernel (among others). If you haven't already, I'd suggest reading through the posts. There are various bits of information that Nokia has requested that may help them solve the problems.
