Don't know exactly where to post my question:
Is there a function or another videoplayer where I can zoom a video to remove the black borders up and down ?

For me, when I covered the EPL Ice hockey playoffs in a live podcast from outside of the Coventry Ice Dome. I had a chatroom running, was posting to the clubs' forums and was updating the links on Facebook at the same time.
Moreover, all of this was over HSDPA and not wifi.
I then went back to the hotel and stuck a movie on using the standard TV Out connector.
I did have to do one battery change during the day but mate had his N900 with him and so I used his battery in my phone.
It was a good N900 day.

EDIT: www.phoenix-podcast.co.uk for those who are interested.

Wow moment: I wowed when I noticed that PR1.2 is actually worse than the already awful PR1.1...

Yesterday when I was talking to my sister on Skype at the same time that I was chatting with a friend on Facebook-chat and sending a mp3 via e-mail to him, all at the same time.

I'm not a fanboy, but I will never regret buying the N900. This is the perfect device for my needs RIGHT NOW.

Wow!

I just pulled over to the side of the road in rural nowhere and:

* disengaged Sygic satnav & fm transmitter
* established an ssh session to my development PC with an rdesktop tunnel to its virtual Windows guest
* joined a conference call meeting on the phone app (speakerphone)
* used desktop sharing software on my virtual PC via N900's rdesktop to participate visually in the meeting
* accessed bugzilla from microb while on the call, and dicked around reading comics in the boring bits
* made code changes, did a build & an upload from the remote machine while on the call
* Sent out an email to all concerned using Modest

This thing is changing the way I work. Nokia may have forgotten about it already but there's plenty of life left in the old dog.

I got mine a few weeks ago and for me it's the best thing on the market today, because of maemo.

To be honest I don't have many hopes for meego being better than maemo for a long time. Maemo has been maturing since 2005 and has an active community developing apps for just as long. Meego doesn't even have a really working beta or apps out, and once it actually ships it will take a lot of time to catch up to maemo. (I'm not using any website that requires Flash 10, so I don't know much about that.)

You can try installing Mappero (in maemo's extras) - it uses map data from Open Street maps and Google maps. The latter has Chinese street names etc. - It also runs smoother than Nokia maps.

I can't think of any apps I feel are lacking, but I'm probably just being unimaginative - I like the fact that maemo allows people to write their own apps without any restrictions.
