Personally I don't use it & haven't done for years even with a phone that supported it but no objection to others having it. Why do most people that use it do so? Maybe the inclusion in operator tariff, maybe lack of data support in networks for sensible cost. I suspect most people want to just send a snapshot & don't care how it gets there.

its nice in the US to have mms . another thing i would want to mention is that the n95's speakers were wayy better than the n900s . you think they'd continue the legacy of the great hardware speakerwise. but i also noticed that a certain movie or app can go louder than just listening to music you transferred to your n900 , does this mean the n900's audio level isnt at its full capacity? would it be able to be fixed / turned up or something with a 3rd party app or firmware update?

The biggest thing for MMS (I think) is that it's instant. Yes, there is email: but only people with email on their phones will get it instant. Yes, there is facebook - but sometimes I don't want to upload a photo to the world and then have to go mess with permissions on "who" I want to see it... and again: only those with facebook get it instant.
With MMS it goes right from my phone to theirs.. and they get it. Even if their in the middle of a meeting . And on the US side.. this isn't as expensive as it seems the UK side is. It's usually included in most things now-a-days.. all my friends unlimited messaging, SMS+MMS. Plus, since it's supported on even the silly non smart-phones it's more or less "universal" in a sense.
Not really a huge deal one way or the other IMHO.. but why people seem adamant that the N900 doesn't get it is kind of baffling. If you don't use it, don't use.. whats the big deal? Other people do.

Guys, this is NOT 3G video calling but video streaming over 3G which is IM protocol specific!

Please read the post before suggesting that I made a 'big deal'. I know we don't both speak the same language but surely it's close enough!
