Err, yes. It's been explained several times in this very thread that the sole reason for the existence of this small update is to bring N900s to a point whereby they're able to accept the larger update that's coming soon.

Probably, but as that'll render the entire device useless, why would you want to do that?

Sweet, i just checked and it shows up as Maemo 5 for update. I live in Canada, Toronto. My firmware now is 1.2009.44. Maybe only for east coast? I wonder if it has changed anything to my settings. Once again Click Update on your application manager and should appear.

hm, ok then... i guess i will update...but the thing is..i haven't had a single problem with my N900 since day1 i bought it....so i don't have a reason to upgrade really, but mainly im just worried wheter the new fw will screw up some things or not..

i might of asked the wrong thing someone said to search for rootfs as this could be why i cant install the firmware
