ahh thats where the strategic sorting and option to auto accept all other changes. okay bit of a pain at first but if u approve or deny major changes until they appear to be semantic or reasonably trivial then hit auto accept then it shouldn't be too bad. would also need an "ignore for now" option for when u just wanna hear music without the hassle. that said i'm sure there are better solutions, this's jus my humble suggestion.

Have you ever heard of Mussorgsky, a program that displays a list of art results and let you choose the art? Isn't this the best possible way to satisfy everyone's demand?

This is the only app I am actually excited for. Peter is there a master list of coming features you could put up? That way I don't have to harass you so much?

Next up project for Peter: A picture viewer that scroll a la Apple album art view UI. No one has ever created that for N900. We need something that makes viewing pictures better than just a flat scroller. A 3 dimensional picture viewer.

Are people looking for the ability to edit the tags themselves, or for instinctiv to do it for them ? It seems to me that the former would be most useful, allowing any changes you like, and only those changes, while the latter would have to work by magic - to guess what that track really is, and would require, presumably, the user confirmation previously discussed...

It has this humongous limitation of only allowing me to choose from what it believes to be right. To work in real life, it has to be paired with a tag editor, an organizer, who knows what, and it's neigh-unusable for large lists because of that.

I really like it, but if you have a typo in your song tag, or a bad tag, missing, ambiguous, etc, it's dead.

Too bad. Mighty useful in small quantities. It takes about 3000 times less time to move all data to a PC, re-tag it and put it back, which takes time, effort, and has the distinct disadvantage of pre-selecting songs, pre-ordering them and loses mobility.

Last I checked, it also lacks mass corrections. One can't auto-apply the same art to several songs in the same album. I did check a while ago, though.

Haha, thanks for the encouragement -- it's what keeps us going. Once we get a proper site up and running I think posting the roadmap might be cool. That said, we're fairly user-driven so the stuff requested in this thread is what's at the top of our list. There are at least three "surprises" though:
- auto correcting data
- over the air song recognition (like if hear a song on the radio and you want to know what it's called)
- wireless, two way sync (so you can play all the songs on your desktop and any songs you add or playlists you change on your mobile will propagate back to your desktop)

It's got a nice looking UI... still a lot of work for the user though to approve changes to a large (or even mid-sized) library.

yup i think they're suggesting more magic! i actually think it'd be much more useful to let instinctiv do it. even with a pc and only editing major/useful metadata tags it still takes forever! trust me i've tried it. i wouln't even attempt to do it on my n900. after seeing what they've managed to do with the auto album art i have faith in their magic tricks!
