was an excellent read ...there is an audiobook too which does make for skipping through well... while puttering doing other things.
And the author (who is quite savvy in the field of AI) talks in interviews and discussions at length with yea sayers, nay sayers, and skeptics concerning AI, AGI, and ASI...
And yeah... interesting... and genie-in-the-bottle unnerving...
and it is fascinating...
especially some of the experiments which have been done concerning containment...
what an ASI is capable of ..
and what most probable outcomes will occur if it is freed from containment.

That is interesting..
Most certainly the airlines had better talk to the aircraft manufacturers to start doing refits to isolate the passengers from the critical systems.
Last thing I want when flying... is some kid with his laptop thinking he knows how to fly the plane better than a decades-of-real-flight-time experienced and trained pilot. That is a disaster waiting to happen.
This guy...he may be a pro with his own company in threat analysis...and to a point what he has managed to do to alter the plane directly is enlightening....but it also jeopardizes the lives of everyone on board...he has absolutely no idea what could go wrong by his mucking about...I don't see anywhere in his accolades any training or degree in aircraft electronics, aircraft computerized systems, nothing...period... and their functions ..the fact he has been warned multiple times not to mess with the airline property as well tells me this isn't a one-off nor will be the last time he will do something like this.
If it were me...understanding his track-record...I'd ban him from my planes for his lifetime.
I'm really surprised that the feds didn't just detain him indefinitely without the ability to communicate with anyone...last thing needed before all the refits are done is him telling others how to do it...or posting a "how-to" on the web.
