You *must* let us all know what you think of the phone! Please post your impressions when you get it!

sure i will
and btw: it seems that a xda user named chainfireXDA successfully flashed the sgs2 kernel without signature.
that would mean that the sgs2 bootloader is NOT locked.
amazing news about a amazing phone

That would be the ultimate cool...

Wow, this phone is looking like the phone to beat this year. Of all of the upcoming phones, I can't think of a single one that offers this synergy of quality and specification. There seem to be no compromises.

It looks like in at least one metric, Android has surpassed the mighty iOS app count: free Apps.

With increased developer interest, and app support that span OS iterations, expect this number to continue to climb!

Here's another Galaxy S II post comparing the cameras of the Galaxy S II camera's against the rest.

http://www.gsmarena.com/piccmp.php3?...&idPhone3=3619

The bottom line? The Galaxy S II camera is among the choicest of smartphone cameras. It has excellent colour reproduction and very crisp images especially at 8MP.

Arguably, the N8 offers a crisper image, though a slight edge goes to the S II for accurate colour reproduction. I'd give the nod to the N8, though the S II isn't far behind at all -- it's a game of inches.

Woah! Engadget just reviewed the Galaxy S II and gave it a score of 9/10...

If Engadget is doling out such high reviews, it *must* be good.

So, the Galaxy S II 'Voice Talk' is basically a re-branded Vlingo implementation:

http://www.vlingo.com/demo/videos

I wonder if this sends voice to a server ala Google speech-to-text, or if it happens on the phone. It seems to happen on the phone, which is cool.

I really like that Samsung is choosing competent existing software rather than trying to build it all in-house. The S II should have a superb out of the box experience.

I've heard that Vlingo can be hit or miss, though.

More Galaxy S II news. Here is a head-to-head fight between the Galaxy S II and the LG Optimus 2X:

http://www.gsmarena.com/samsung_gala...review-585.php

I'll give you a hint, the Galaxy S II comes out the victor.

This was a war with a pre-production model, clocked to 1.0GHz and seeming to have incomplete drivers. Even so, this device quite promptly handed it to the Optimus in every metric other than 3D performance. Of course, you should expect the 3D to change with the final.

Here's hoping for some benchmarks soon!
