Are there any work in progress and any news when beta 3 or a final version is coming? there are some smaller bugs that needs to be fixed before its fully usable..

Im currently using Pidgin and I'm quite happy with it.. however having it abit more built in would be nice..

I've managed to get everything working in Diablo messaging, including telepathy-haze (ICQ, MSN, etc) and link-local / Bonjour support without using the rtcomm beta. I do have the Collabora repo...

But I will have to start with a freshly flashed tablet and walk through the steps to see what I did, so I can tell you.

I'd love to see more notification methods, including the ability for loud alerts for pending messages, as opposed to the current quiet blip. I'm open to any hacks in the mean time.

You could replace the appropriate .wav files in /usr/share/sounds with louder ones.

Of course! The files prefixed chat. I really should have searched a little more.

Thanks!

I have now replaced chat-start_new.wav, chat-msg_in_fg.wav and chat-msg_in_bg.wav by ~7dB amplified versions using Audacity.

These should now be sufficiently loud in proportion to my usual sound levels.

I think I may replace some of my default Ubuntu sounds with those from the N810. I do like the classic Nokia start-up ui-wake_up_tune.wav.

Thanks again sjgadsby!

do we know when additional features will make it into the regular OS via SSU? the instant messaging appl. is one of the features I use most on my tablet, and it would be so great if it could 'officially' do all the things it can already.

there seriously needs to be a new telepathy-haze, as the current one depends on a version of libpurple thats seriously out of date...
