To people complaining about HTC Sense, it is the first thing I remove every time I flash a new ROM on my DHD.

Everything is removable / replaceable.

Well yes and no. The bootloader for the HTC sensation will be locked which means its a lot trickier to flash new ROMS than for say something like the new Samsung which has an unlocked bootloader. Not impossible mind ... just trickier.

That being said.... take a butchers at this

From the this-sort-of-thing-should-be-included-in-all-android-builds...

WhisperMonitor, dynamic firewall:

This is a bit of piece of mind. I'm glad to hear that security is being taken seriously by some on the Android platform.

Can you share a link to a reference of the unlocked Galaxy S II bootloader?

I remember hearing whispers that it might be true, but if it's actually true, then that's amazing.

Pretty much common knowledge now that its out in the UK. Just google for it and you should find some reference material.

Event in NY does look promising. Goddamnit the Sensation was announced fro May 19th delivery on Vodaphone in the UK today and should be in US shortly after that. Now Samsung might be out at same time....

Bugger decisions decisions. Might have to switch to AT&T to get the Samsung, but I bloody hate AT&T

I should have known better to search for that news. Its strange that I had to be reminded.

The sensation looks like a great phone, but from the reports, the S II is epic in every way. I think it would be wise to wait, at the very least, and do an in-hand comparison of the two devices.

I was reading up on the Galaxy S II, and besides the superlative display, the battery life on this device is supposed to be really, really good. Add that to a fast SoC and a great camera, and you have a very sweet system. An unlocked bootloader is the icing on the cake...

I'm sure the Galaxy SII will make it to all of the carriers in one form or another. It's generally done this way, though you may have to wait.

It would be so nice if you could take your unlocked device and somehow spoof it as a nexus device to receive the latest Android builds from Google. I understand that this would probably muck up some drivers and certain binaries if they were updated, but I suspect that these incompatibilities could be cleverly worked around.

http://www.androidcentral.com/htc-ro...-htc-sensation

Best pre review of the sensation I have seen to date. I will be waiting to see a side by side review of the two phones at the very least. The Sensations camera does seem to do some interesting stuff (since we are talking about that) essentially its constantly buffering the image so that when you hit the button the picture is snapped instantly rather than the normal delay.

I bloody hate when there are two things and no clear choice between them. Spoiled for choice I guess

Basically the Comp goes like this (Sensation left IIGS right)

Snapdragon V ARM Cortex A9
768MB V 1GB RAM
Higher Res SLCD 540 x 960 V Super Amoled 480x800
8GB V 16 GB Storage included
1520Mah V 1650Mah Battery

Those are the highlights. The Samsung also mentions USB on the go which the Sensation does not.

EDIT - Just found this

http://blog.clove.co.uk/2011/04/16/s...on-comparison/

Its worth noting as well that AT&T suck *** for data plans. The 4GB 4G plan is 45 bucks a month and 10 bucks every GB over. I am not sure how much data I use in a month but I want the damn option without getting bent over and humped.
Their phone plans aint exactly stellar either.
