You wrong, you can create directory as root in /home/user, but you will get root: root permission, this its a reason why Coderus added chown -R user:user bla bla in postinst script. And it worked perfectly...

Maybe some apps cause this problem with installation unrestricted system-ui..

Sligtly off-topic:

Schturman, you have won a device in the coding competition

http://talk.maemo.org/showpost.php?p...&postcount=748

N9QTweak came in third and from the competition page there seem to be 3 devices for your category so you've got yourself a device!

Congratulations

Congratulation man
However, .status-menu folder problem for me too (with Open Mode) only with this version. (I uninstalled all and then reinstalled CODeRUS unrestricted system UI.
Now I try to create it manually.

EDIT: after created .status-menu folder (from root user), the code
Code:
chown -R user:user /home/user/.status-menu
shows me "unknown user/group user:user", however with this code
Code:
chown -R user /home/user/.status-menu
the CODeRUS unrestricted system UI installation is completed successfully.

death_jax, the command should be:
chown -R user:users /home/user/.status-menu

I read user:user, for this didn't work
However, why there isn't the creation, and the chowned, of that folder in the script (only in this version of sys UI there is this problem, both inception and open mode)?
