Well, got it running finally - thanks Wolf08! (and no thanks to Nokia and their rubbish repository servers)

Canola2 looks great and works really well, but won't play or even recognise my OGG files (which are 90% of my collection). I have TK's ogg-support 0.4 installed, and also installed ogg-support-lightmediascanner, but no go. Showstopper problem, a real shame.

I have been waiting for Canola 2 forever and I am still waiting. SSSLLLLooooowwwww! Servers... I think the packets are being sent on a mule.... :-) WHY! can't some one mirror that .deb file so we can get it downloaded. You would think Nokia would provide some server space for the community to mirror files/repos... Canola is the best.....:-)

Someone has. Check wolf08's postings starting from a few pages back (26th page I think).

BTW, another thanks to wolf08 for the help! I managed to get Canola2 up and running using the instructions you gave last night. It looks great!

Cheers to having such a great user community!

Test video was random Conan O'Brien episode (XviD, 1021 kbps, 624x352, maybe "max quality" that N800 can handle) which plays fine on Mplayer, but the video doesn't play so smoothly on Canola. It is little bit "jerky". I tested the video in fullscreen and windowed mode.

Greetings:

I would like to thank IWolf for creating the this new repository.

I got Canola2 installed finally.

I also would like to state that this is a good example how Linux experts use crowd sourcing tasks to resolve a problem to help the community.
I can't wait to see what Linux will look like in 5 years from now.

IWolf have a great Christmas and thanks again.

Regards Robert

Sorry for my mistake:

I meant Wolf08, not IWolf.

Wow, if no one can install your goddamn application then don't expect much feedback other than "it won't download".
While you might have decent programming skills, your network engineering skills need a serious amount of work.
iball, your are being a jerk -- even more so than usual. These are the people who've brought innovative, useful, third-party but professional-grade software to the tablets since the early days of the 770. I know for a fact that Marcelo, the team leader, makes them work their asses off. Gustavo is taking a much-needed and well-earned vacation, and is still spending time here trying to explain things and help.

And here you are bombasting them all for things that aren't their fault and they can't do anything about, like the self-righteous arsehole you are. Oh, and did I mention you were being a jerk ?
