@scorpius any news about the release of yappari 0.0.30??

Ok quick update:

FIRST: THERE'S STILL A LOT TO DO so don't expect a quick release in the next days.

Yappari can receive any kind of media right now, images, videos, audio. Everything works. It can't send them yet but it will before the release.

Sadly Yappari now has to download all the media before showing it to the user, so Yappari won't use the browser anymore. You'll like it anyway.

You have the option to automatically import all the downloaded media into the phone gallery which SUCKS or Yappari will download all media in a cache directory and not mess with the gallery. The default is the cache.

Also you have the option to tell Yappari to download automatically all media under x KBytes. If you receive media bigger than that, you have to press the Download button and watch the cool progress bar downloading your stuff.

if you close the chat window while uploading/download media it will abort your upload/download.

No copy/paste, no search field in the contacts list, no profile pictures for 0.0.30, but I hope most of those request to be in 0.0.31.

On another note is there a notification option, as in when i get a text or miss call it shows on the screen saver, but i just get the blue blinking light.

That question has been asked many times (use the search): it's a misconfiguration in your phone. Enable "Other notifications" in Settings -> Notification Light.

I think what he asked for was if a Yappari message could be shown with an icon at the screensaver/unlock screen which as opposed to missed calls/sms/im messages is not the case right now.

Oh... Yeah my bad. I didn't know there were people that look at that screen, I always use the side button to turn on the screen and I thought everybody was the same

You're ALWAYS online with Yappari since the connection is alive all the time. Why is it a bother to you?

In an iPhone for example, the connection can't be kept alive all the time since there's no multitasking. The iPhone disconnects from the servers (so you're offline) and a push message is created when somebody sends you a message.

That's why Yappari is SO FAST receiving messages and the other phones take about 30 seconds or even more to receive a message.

Since you have a powerful phone like the N900 with real multitasking you WILL be online 24/7. I don't think is something I can control while the connection is alive.
