Hello, I am user from China. I can send the mms with the fmms, however I can't receive mms anyway. Faint! I try to contact my service provider for some information. Frals, would you please tell me what information I need to get from my service provider to resolve the problem? Thank you very much.

i'm wondering if it might be possible to add a phone number check on contacts, so that only contacts with a number would show up?

Are you connected to the right AP? Since I haven't messed with the sending code, it *SHOULD* work

Do you receive any "SMS Push" notification? If not, the problem might be that your operator does not have your phone marked as "MMS Enabled". On the other hand, there are some bugs in receiving the "SMS Push" which I'm working on fixing, which might also be the problem.
IMO, wait for a new release, if it still doesn't work, ask your service provider if they are sending your phone the MMS messages or not

It would be possible yes, but making sure each contact does not have a phone number would be a bit expensive in processing power (at least in the way it's currently handled) - I think adding a searchbar would suffice, even though contacts without a number would show up?

After that you'll see fmms.log in filemanager or when you connect the device to your desktop as a mass storage device.
E-mail the log to me, if you don't have the email address, drop me a PM. Thanks!

I had the problem with the small image that some users mentioned. The message seemed to come in ok, but the image was tiny.

This was on O2 Ireland, and if it makes a difference the message was sent from a Nokia E51

Yeah I was thinking the same thing about it taking processing power. Sure wish contacts were indexed to begin with with these kinda things in mind, so you could just call the specific index.

Have the same problem with one provider (but it works with another provider). How to make my phone marked as "MMS Enabled"? Is it possible to send some Capabilities Info to the provider?

To be honest I'm not sure, from what I've gathered sending an MMS usually enables this, but it might differ between carriers, some requires you to call them up and ask for it (also from what I've heard).

I haven't had time to actually read those UAProf's documents, but they might enable it.

Mine does the opposite and sends me everything without touching it.

How to fix this? Supply a patch containing the MMSUAProf/UAProf code and I'll be happy to integrate it into fMMS

[UAPROF]: “User Agent Profile version 2.0”, Open Mobile AllianceTM. URL: http://www.openmobilealliance.org
[MMSUAPROF]: “UAProf Schema for MMS Characteristics”, OMA-SUP-RDF_ccppschema_mms-V1_3, Open Mobile AllianceTM. URL: http://www.openmobilealliance.org
According to http://validator.openmobilealliance..../deli-faq.html:
x-wap-profile header item needs to be set to a link where UAProf of device is.
e.g. x-wap-profile: "URL_OF_UAPROF"

Supposedly, Nokia should be providing the UAProf file, as with all other Nokia devices. But since Nokia is not officially supporting N900 MMS, we'll have to find another way to host it.

I am looking forward to try this tonight and will test if I can control the image size received from MMSC.

BTW, this is the same approach used by SwirlyMMS (MMS for iPhone).
