Windows 7 is the same as XP and Vista. If you are running Professional or Ultimate then there is no differences at all. You can run XP mode or Vista mode without any issues. But if you have the cheapy Home premium then you must either way try run Virtual PC and do it from Linux or XP instead. This way you won't break your windows.

I am using Windows 7 64-bit. I am stuck at the install drivers part...where do you look for MYSETUP.INF? This is not straightforward. The people writing the guide are for XP or Vista user..not Windows 7 64-bit.

Run INF Wizard.exe
1) Plug in your PS3 Controller, click next
2) Select your PS3 Controller from the list and click next->next->then save as "MYSETUP" in the folder called (1) ADD HARDWARE WIZZARD
3) OPEN START MENU and type "hdwwiz.cpl" and PRESS ENTER
4) Click NEXT
5) Select Install Manually (Advanced)
6) MAKE SURE SHOW ALL DEVICES IS SELECTED AND CLICK NEXT
7) CLICK HAVE DISK....
8) click BROWSE... and find "MYSETUP.INF" in (1) ADD HARDWARE WIZARD folder
9) PRESS OK and then NEXT TWICE
10) IF WARNING APPEARS, click INSTALL ANYWAY
11) FINIShED! Now GO to STEP 2

Be carefull, I tried this on Win 7 x64 and all was fine until I restarted my PC and it fooked up all my drivers for my USB devices and my graphics card.

Things like Sixpair remind me why I still keep a linux netbook handy despite having virtual machines. Although I'm sure it'll work with the latter.
I followed the first half of the Windows guide, then used Sixpair, then added "input" back into the disabled modules in my /etc/bluetooth/main.conf, stop/start bluetooth, and everything worked. Note: it didn't work with "input" missing.
How do I turn off the controller when I'm done? Though!

It worked fine with me! My controller only fails to connect to my ps3… I’ve already put in the Bluetooth adress of the system back into the controller, but does not seems to help. Can you help me?
