hm when I try to launch it it creates a popupmenu over almost my entire screen, in landscape, titled "Dialog". it remains there until another popup says fastsms isnt responding, and asks me wether or not I want to shut it down.

Which version do you have?
Give me the output of:

cd /opt/fastsms
./fastsms

OK, I just sudo gainrooted and typed in what you said:

home/user # cd /opt/fastsms
/opt/fastsms # ./fastsms
started

It seems to be a dbus error, please try to restart your device (if not yet done). If problem persist remove and reinstall it...

hmkay, cool. Ive used it before a recent reflash to great success, so Im assuming its still awesomesauce .

you havent had time yet to make the contacts and send buttons a bit more thumbfriendly =) ? I remember talking about that some time back. Either way, this app has come MILES during short time, you are definitely doing a remarkable job. You, sir, are a gentleman and a scholar!

Oh dont worry about it, I deal with a ton of customers each day too, its hard to keep track of who is who when youre handling hundreds each day =)

I mean putting the buttons somewhere more reachable when using the device onehanded. The top locations may not be ideal placements, thats all. Perhaps squeezing the text field to the left or right side (optionable due to lefties and righties perhaps) with the contacts and send buttons on the side of the text field could be a solution?

Also: just rebooted, still the same problem. Reinstalling worked =P .

Oh yes!now I remember! The point is that if I'm able to transform all this in the virtual keyboard the first row in ui will disappear... I'm working on it right now...

PS: glad it works again

Question: Do the buttons have to have such a large gap between them? I very much like the idea (it came up in the Notion Ink Adam blog, but whatever) of getting rid of both the space and the visible dividing lines between letters/characters, because then people are much more likely to subconsciously zero in on the character pressed, supposedly.

Either way, while I think it looks nice now, I can image it might be more comfortable to use if the gaps were smaller.

That said, I haven't personally fiddled with this yet, so this is more logical deduction based on what I know of myself, other people, and human thumb/finger-eye coordination. But at the end of the day, your app, and it's definitely a great one.

Thank you! In qwerty layout the gap is already the min I can reach using qtCreator, in alphanum perhaps not.
In future, perhaps, I will use qml that give more freedom on ui. Consider that the gap is also based on the the you choice, I think.
