Yeah I understand your pain...

There's no doubt there's been measures taken to artificially slow delivery of the N9.
Or at the very least measures taken to keep the roll-out footprint small, & anemically marketed.
Plus I suspect (hope not) Nokia's had a hand in limiting/delaying public knowledge of exact release dates.

Based on everything that's happened over the past 6mth, it's hard not to think otherwise.
Oh well, we're getting to the 'pointy end' now...
So hopefully things will become crystal clear for every country, in the next 4-weeks.

*edit*
Think this may have been posted, also includes a fairly accurate summary of worldwide availability.

Sigh... so much news about Symbian from Nokia...
It's like they're trying harder to plug a platform scheduled for death, than they are MeeGo.
(Which is 'unofficially' scheduled for death too I guess )

don’t know if you have already seen this video taken with the n9 (by bill perry @ nokia). the quality is gorgeous!

EDIT: Strange, via twitter someone asked bill perry something about the front-facing camera, but his answer was that nokia n9 has no front-facing camera

Ofcourse they wait to release N9 until they have announced first WP7 in mid august. They know symbian cant compete with WP cause Elop and media has killed it even if it has been better lately.

But Meego is a direct competitor to WP7 and not good for MicroNokia.

Thats Elop and the rest of the pissing boards decissions.

And I guess this is the real reason some Meego engineers and CTO leaved before summer vacation even if the official statements was "personal reasons"

Actually I really begin sound like the rest of the negative people here now.... So not even sure if I will buy N9 if we dont get a positive response from Nokia

Mike i totally agree with you actually even if we do not always see eye to eye sometimes.

All the so called software developers on here and nobody not one of them is capable of ripping the guts out of Maemo and putting it back together again PROPERLY, all i read is "i know this and i know that and i can do this and i can do that" but when it boils down to it sweet fa gets done to better Maemo.

As for the N9 EVERYONE who buys one will be just as unhappy if not more than with the N900.
Dreamers nothing but dreamers.

As for your last comment .

Wow, wow wow
Awesome. Thanks for this post. Quite amazing I spotted it too.
I'm in RSA, and have a N900 (obviously) and really want the Nokia N9.
With that said, the lack of apps, and full backing by a company is really making me lean towards getting the Galaxy S II asap locally.
If N9 supported android apps, or even if it had a company like Nokia committed behind it, it would be a no brainer, I would get it.

But now, I'm kinda leaning towards an Android SGS2 since it's obviously got a huge apps support and frequent updating OS.

But I love the openess and native Linux Meego.

Tough decision.

Not sure if this has been clarified yet.
But engadget posted an update to this story.

So we can panic less... for now...
