My stock Galaxy Tab has this as well, by the way. I'm not sure that it's "left out" so much as often not enabled or compiled in, seeing as how it's turning up left and right on several devices--not just the Samsung ones.

WHOO! Gotta get rid of those things while there's still a T-Mobile!

It seems that NVidia's CEO has made a comment on the disappointing sale of Android tablets:

http://www.engadget.com/2011/05/15/n...lames-pricing/

This is of course, only after the XOOM was rushed to market at a price that's almost laughable. I could have predicted slow sales to start.

Thankfully, the article says that he's quite optimistic about the future tablet offering.

Do I smell a Tegra 3 on the horizon? It better be at least as competent as the Exynos 4210, and hopefully doubly so.

Most Android phones have this feature already, not to mention rooted/custom ones. It's just not available from AOSP source code, until now.

It looks as if the Galaxy S II has some new names and carriers for the US...
Introducing the Sprint Within, AT&T Attain, and Verizon Function:

I'm not mad on the names, but differentiation is differentiation.

Still no news on the release, but I'm guessing that it's going to happen in June.

Engadget has posted an HTC Flyer review!

http://www.engadget.com/2011/05/16/htc-flyer-review

I found it intresting that it's as if the article's author discovers (or re-discovers) and praises the 7" size for it's on-the-go portability.

It seems as if the pen has its issues, which is disconcerting. This is where sensitivity, optimization, and feel would play a huge roll. The goal is simple, provide a similar experience as on paper. The drawing surface should offer the same 'dry' resistance. There should be extremely little input lag by way of a very fast routine for detecting input (and fast hardware), and the input should be sensitive enough to be able to write quite small letters. It seems as if HTC misses the mark with this.

An interesting proposition, but if it fails to do pen input well, then one wonders if it is worth purchasing this device over a $2 notebook.

The ultra-popular Plants-vs-Zombies hits the Amazon App Store tomorrow!

http://www.androidcentral.com/popcap...e-hit-tomorrow

At $2.99, this is a very fun casual game. My g/f is in love with it, and I would seriously buy it for her -- if (sh|w)e had an Android device.

It's not in the Android Market yet, but I'm betting that it will be there soon.

Not feeling the Flyer? The HTC Puccini has just had some specs leaked:

http://www.ubergizmo.com/2011/05/htc...ications-leak/

What we do know about the hardware within the HTC Puccini would be a 1.5GHz Qualcomm MSM8660 dual core processor that will run on Android 3.0 Honeycomb right out of the box, but perhaps right before launch, HTC might just be able to update it to 3.1 – we can always hope, can’t we? Not only that, the display will be of a higher resolution at 1,280 x 800 pixels, which is roughly similar to what we have in the industry from players such as Motorola, Samsung, Asus and Acer. The 1.5GHz processor certainly got us thinking – that would probably translate to a much shorter battery life than expected.
That's a 1.5GHz dual-core MSM8660. Wowzah! this is in the performance vicinity of the Exynos 4210, and should be a very competent tablet -- certainly a step ahead of the Tegra 2.

Here are some benchmarks of the snapdragon test platform @ 800x480:
