Hi,

I'm a N900 user from India, and desperately need a Whatsapp substitute! Found this awesome thread, and thanks scorpius in advance for all your work! Installation was smooth, but registration is not happening for me. I tried many times in the last 3 days, and here's my log, in case I'm doing something stupid. (I've replaced the IMEI with XXXXs and my 10 digit phone number (without leading 0s) with YYYYs). Please help!

Lamentablemente el Sharing en Maemo es algo complicado y hay que escribir todo un programa aparte para ello (un plugin). Estaba usando un nokia 5800 con Whatsapp en lo que reparaba mi n900.
Ahora,lo tengo de nuevo, y no tengo manera de que Yappari conecte. Me pide verificar,pero nada. Sms failed, y le doy a call me y me da error o no pasa nada =(
Como puedo arreglar esto?

Lamentablemente por lo visto el registro no está funcionando y no sé cuál es la causa. Tendrás que esperar hasta que se consiga una solución.

Estaría bien, uso la función "Share" frecuentemente, sobre todo para compartir fotos en Facebook.

Hi,

I'm a N900 user from India, and I desperately need to use whatsapp. Firstly, thanks Scorpius for all your work and help. Yappari looks good, and I installed it without any problems. But I'm not able to register, even though I've been trying for 3 days. There is no error shown, but the sms never arrives, and neither does the voice call. I've attached the log, in case I've done anything wrong (I've replaced my IMEI with XXXs, and my 10 digit phone number, without leading zeros, with YYYs). Could anyone tell me what I can do? Is anyone else able to register now?

Hey psquid,

Scorpius will most likely, depending on your log, I suppose, tell you that you can't register at the moment. At least, I can't, he can't and a previous poster can't, either.

He said to wait until he had more information/a solution.

Not to bash your hopes, but just to let you know that he'll probably say that he can't help you much at the moment.

You have the location of the log file in the first post. Send a private message with that file to Scorpius. And if you want, ofuscate the phone numbers inside the log so can't be seen.



Do it in reverse. Create a folder in Mydocs, remove cache folder and create a link to the folder in Mydocs, named cache:

(Substitute "YappariCache" with the name you want)
mkdir /home/user/MyDocs/YappariCache
(Close yappari and be sure there isn't his icon in upper bar)
cd /home/user/.yappari
(If you want move the actual files from cache to the new location with next command. If not, jump to "rm" (remove) line )
mv cache/* /home/user/MyDocs/YappariCache

rm -r cache
ln -s /home/user/MyDocs/YappariCache cache

(Init Yappari again, end enjoy )
Hi Scorpius & malkavian,

I have tried above method and I completely messed up by my mistake. I have created one folder 'Whatsapp' and used ln command on that. I am not able download any file. Download button is disable. I created new folder 'cache' along with audios, images and videos under /home/user/.yappari/
Could please look out my log file and let me know the solution ?

I think, I need to delete all Yappari files and folders and install again. Can please let me know the detail process ? Sorry for the inconvenience.

Hello Scorpius,
do you think that this could work also from bluestacks on pc?
it's possible to root bluestacks since a long time. That would save me a lot of time in trying to install nitdroid on the N900.
Is the different imei between the two devices still a problem even nowadays that the password algorithm as been completely changed?
If it woks I could then try to register my number on bluestacks, block my contacts from official whatsapp in bluestacks, and then look for the XML configuration file and copy its password to yappari.
