So I am trying to hold back from going faster for as long as possible.
true.....true.....

the long term effect is what i also have a concen.
though i have a 1ghz applet on my desktop, i use ie rarely and when really needed. so far my fastest is 850mhz (ideal). and i always go back to default or 250-600mhz if im not gonna use the phone or if in idle mode.

i can see on the reviews of overclocking that 800mhz is the safest among the fastest voltages....

Just re-flashed from Titan's kernel-power to Leto's kernel and turns out that, now I've got a slew of old voicemail notifications (over the period of testing of power-kernel) and the hidden SSID wi-fi (WPA2) works again. What is more, the power kernel has some issues... I've re-enabled 125MHz, and tried to limit it down to 250MHz at max, and it still goes up to 500MHz. Just my $0.02.

interesting, as I cannot reproduce most of your problems. could you please elaborate?
voicemail/SMS/wifi-WPA2 works fine for me.
I don't know why you would want to limit the freq. to max 250 (is the device too fast for you? but apparently some components require 500Mhz and override the the cpufreq settings
temporarily when needed. for example, plugging in the USB cable always sets the minimum
freq. to 500.

Has anyone actually tried the 1200mhz and gotten it stable? The maximum stable setting I can get is 1155mhz and after that no matter what is done it becomes unstable.

Thanks for this. I'd like to try and use these. This is a request for just a short recap on how to use this setup with titan's kernel.

I mean, I know it's in the hundred posts above somewhere, and I've read the wiki page.

But just simply, the min/max freq. you put in the file based on let's say titan's ideal file. OK.

What about the voltages?

Any other commands one needs to issue then outside of kernel-load?

Thanks for a hoped-for recap...

Titan,
I've installed the power kernel, and it seems only I flashed back to Leto's I was able to access the WAP with hidden SSID and WPA2 (AES). I guess that the delayed voicemail notification issue might be t-mo's problem.

you might have found a bug in the PR1.2 kernel before it is officially released
because the my kernel contains the PR1.2 patches which affect the Wifi code.

would you mind installing the official PR1.2 SDK kernel (backup first!)
http://repository.maemo.org/pool/fre...+0m5_armel.deb
http://repository.maemo.org/pool/fre...+0m5_armel.deb

then flashing it on-device with
/sbin/fiasco-image-update /boot/zImage-2.6.28-20100903+0m5.fiasco

to check whether it really the PR1.2 patches?
Thanks

Which kernel is "better"? Titans or Lehtos?

Try both and find out.. it might depend on your device. I like Titans for it's dynamics and ease. With Titans i have been able to fine tune the OC my self and thus got it to work better.

can we actually try that? i kinda thought all the available kernels maxed at 1150??
id like to try 1200.
