since all the developers are putting their best efforts in wazapp why not we all play a part in giving something to this app from our side as well like d previous post of a boot logo smaller than before. So we can atleast change the UI to a more beautiful one whichs much more suitable and perfctly dedicated to N9. I am a graphics designer and was thinking of contributing my own UI options for wazapp. Will start the design soon.

However just head over to http://www.pngoptimizer.com/ and submit your PNG. New filesize will be 22,7kb.

Nice! That can be a better alternative to the splash screen image for the beta version, average user can just replace the image with whatever.. but maybe that can be implemented in the new one.

I'll process all images in the UI folder and will symlink the duplicates as well. Will post back my results.

Someone mentioned a couple of pages back that the splash screen image can be made like the one in Nokia Maps and Drive to maintain default theme. It's a good idea. I didn't consider that when I designed the original splash page back in May. Maybe the new release can use a sleeker look.
Here is a new version of the splash page:
Also, since we are no longer using the white version of the splash image, I guess there won't be any need to make that one.
If you want to use this image now, use filebox with root access, replace "wasplash.png" with this new one.
For the original version 0.2.6, It's located in: /opt/waxmppplugin/bin/wazapp/UI/pics.
Edit: For the latest version from git, it's located in: /opt/waxmppplugin/bin/wazapp/UI/common/splash
The original one I made was 168 KB. Now the size is reduced to just 26 KB. Might make that popping up of splash page smoother or something.

Drive, Maps and even Filebox are using Landscape splashscreens if the device is in the landscape orientation while clicking on the icon.
(Would be nice especially for N950 users)
