I think I understand what the problem is. Looks like Nokia is still looking for a guy to manage this whole shipping process:

You know guys all you need do is make a phone call and you will know the updated ETA for your N900.

Er, pick your flavor: "We don't know", "January 15, 2010", "We've started shipping them out last week", "yesterday, but we didn't get them yet from Nokia"...
