Get into a terminal and see what "apt-get -f install" as root gets you.
It should try and fix any half installed packages.

Hi everyone, I'm new in this and I need some help.

I saw at ovi the Fring app for IM. Is anyone using it?? Is it good enough?
I'd love to have ALL my IM accounts in my phone.
If someone is using anything different that works, I'm open to suggestions. Thanks in advance

Pidgin works ok but I find that it reduces my battery life significantly even when it is in standby on edge only...I wonder if it is the messenger or just the small battery in general. Was hoping to be able to get by a day with pidgin but even with moderate usage it seems to drain the battery really quickly as opposed to not using it. It is probably ok to use in sessions but does not seem to play nice with the battery if left connected all the time.

Hmm guess I won't be bothering with fring, I noticed if I leave pidgin connected all the time via edge, I will not last a full day. That is with brightness down etc, answerin a few calls, sending a few texts, with an hour or so of music and internet

If I don't use pidgin I can use the web etc. for a few hours and still have power left over by the time I get home. Wish there was a way to extend battery life sufficiently to have msn going throughout the day, right now it is hard to have msn running since it limits regular usage.

I have a problem with the ICQ account. It works on WLAN but not on GPRS. Other protocols work on GPRS but not ICQ. I have activated SSL, could this be a problem?
How can I detect which plugin I use for ICQ? I have first installed the one from Pidgin which never remembered my password and then wasn't easy to uninstall (I am still not sure if it is uninstalled completely) and after that I have installed the "Extra protocols for conversation".

Similar problem as DaSilva.

After upgrading "Extra protocols for conversation" to version 0.7 I cant login to ICQ account anymore. I uninstalled it and carefully all dependent packages too, disabled "devel" repository then, checked only "extra-testing" repository, but after reinstallation of "extra protocols" nothing changed and still not able to login.

Same results when tested on Maemo SDK. No errors in console. Only message "not logged" in UI.

ICQ account is working fine only inside Pidgin.
