so according with what you say is not that big difference, but the no more uboot. well at least people will have a rest of dealing with that issue, for those who had it.

I really think people only have trouble with uboot because of a lack of willingess to figure things out. I think I heard one guy who had an issue, because his SD card happened to have a partition uboot thought was bootable. Even that can be fixed with a boot.src, I'm pretty sure.

I mean, it's extras devel. It's called devel for a reason. You don't go there unless you're willing to have stuff not work. And you sure as hell can file bugs and make criticisms, but not complain about it when stuff breaks, because the whole point of devel being there is so that **** can be tested by developers or those willing to experiment and learn and break their device.

I think the whole conundrum with u-boot wasn't so much about just having u-boot thrown in but also usb hostmode among other things. Most people didn't want to miss out on the new features and gave u-boot a shot, not knowing what might happen.

As for me, I can see both arguments. Looks like titan has appeased both camps at this point in time. Those who prefer u-boot will stay on 45 and those who like multiboot will upgrade to 46 with all the fancy features added to the familiar boot process.

Just like there is a separate, installable and completely removable uboot-pr13 for the PR1.3 kernel, there likewise should be a separate, installable and completely removable uboot-kp for kernel power. Read here.

Eh, looks like what I though, basically just too many people had trouble with it, so instead of telling them to sod off from devel, it's taken out for now. *Sigh* Oh well. The way the change log says it makes it sound like it'll come back whenever Titan feels it's ready.
Read the changelog, why uboot is removed.
A lot of people have booting problems with it.
