yup! kinda confused, nokia locks the default kernel when the CPU can run up to 1ghz.

maybe other hardware/software issues are affected other than the CPU

I may be completely wrong but i believe nokia limit the cpu to 600mhz because of cooling isues (hopefully undervolting cures that)
so something with the same processor that has a built in fan can clock higher as standard.

Also, titan's ideal profile uses much less power at 500Mhz than Nokia's stock setting at 500Mhz. (about 35% less)
BTW, ignore_nice_load option does save the battery power.

from the name itself does it make the device faster??

so thats why overclocking warns everyone to avoid freqs over 800mhz in hot areas....sweet! thanks! and i also believe that titan's IDEAL kernel is the answer.

yeah me too i tend to use ideal config and just push up the max freq when needed using QB widgets, i also really like the fact that it resets to default on reboot (makes me feel safer) i have widgets for a few of the settings but hardly use any of the others as ideal seems to give the best battery performance.

good thing titan's can be customized and reset in default by a reboot. at reboot stock kernel, my cpu is already up to 30 degrees celcius when loading my desktops.

i also tweaked with qbw and its very fun and useful, its like overclocking is a tap away,

that is because the cpufreq ui uses libs that is available on pr1.2, what you need to do is go to garage.maemo.org and type on the search bar "cpufrequi" click the app and then download.

EDIT: even without the cpufrequi, youl can still overclock your device (on your own risk). its just for monitoring possible cpu temp.

you can also monitor cpu temp by:

-open xterm
-sudo gainroot (rootsh must be installed)
-cat /sys/devices/platform/omap34xx_temp/temp1_input

i believe titan's kernels are the good ones for the reason being that they are customizable, and resets to default by a reboot.
