You're crossing the line. Really. I'm glad zeh, a long standing and respected member of this community, is still with us and endures your gabble. It takes a lot to build the reputation he has. There were quite a lot of occasions when he was the first to give us hints about things to come. More important, he really invests a lot of effort into this community and the ecosystem around it.
You, on the other hand, aren't really known for any such thing. You just enter the classroom and yell at the teacher because your hormones run wild. - You're free to not believe zeh (because, as always, things can change quickly and last minute management decisions can't be predicted), but I'd expect you show at least some respect. Also, I'd have guessed that saying "I don't believe you" would be enough to make your point. You can't prove anything, can you? So why do you keep nagging at him?

again, you were not reading. I said that the case was different. And I'm not speaking of the 400 distributed pre-release N900s (300 distributed at the maemo conference and 100 directly to devs).
Here is the proof, as wished:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yk27PenpAz0
Okay, then tell me in your endless wisdom: how should I proof something without revealing any of my sources? I can't take photos, because there are 100s of different prototypes out there, so I can't know if the one I would "leak" is a little bit different, revealing my source. I can't tell anything too much specific about the UI because in just some month it changed from unsuable to very usable, so I don't know how many of the folks in possession of a device already flashed, again making it easier to track down my sources.
And so on.
The only thing I can do is hint so others find out.
No, I'm not holding to his idea that there is overstock. I said that they can't sell these devices because:
a) back in November: not finished software
b) now nearly finished software but
1. old (internal) hardware
2. problems with the external hardware (sliding mechanism) wasn't solved so they won't get in the hands of customers who are able to claim warranty.
I was completely well informed. I just was informed very late (the decision to not distribute the devices was made just days before). You can't hold that against me. I informed you guys as soon as I got the information/as soon as I got back to my hotel room/Laptop with internet access.
What means first hand? I do get my information from folks using the devices. I call that first hand. You're suggesting me to go to MR-forums? the site from Eldar (afaik). After I said that I don't believe any of the nonsense he's spitting after Nokia kicked him out? Sorry, but I *have* to assume that you're not reading.
hehe, thanks.
I don't disagree with what you said. (Basically because there just isn't much content that one could agree or disagree with.)
It's only that how you said it is intolerable.

I really don't understand all this fuss over a hw keyboard - the FCC docs quite clearly state that the device has a hw keyboard, what is the confusion all about?
P.S. I am also one of those people who must have a hw keyboard before anyone berates me for that without reading what I typed above.

could we stop talking about how usefull and needed a hwkb is? and about all of you who would never ever buy a device without it?
Everybody here knows that many people here wouldnt buy a device without a keyboard and thats ok.
but think about that:
i think everybody agrees that the mass (the american idol watching guys, not us) wants a slim device (without a hwkb) and nokia wants to sell as many phones as possible, so i agree with nokia that their decision is the best to make money and to (maybe) "disrupt" the market.
my advice for hwkb-lovers: buy the device, regardless of having the hwkb or not. If the N9 (without hwkb) sells well, nokia could thing about a sucessor (or "sister" model) with a keyboard. but if it doesnt sell well, nokia would be confirmed about their decision going wp.
So, if you want a maemo/meego device next year, buy a maemo/meego phone this year and hope for a big hit.
and guys, always remember the name of this forum, its not hwkbdevices.org

FCC can be on any phone, and teaser may be shopped. And maybe you leave in a simulated reality. There no "facts", there are confidence percentages (strictly between 0 and 1) on pieces of information. zehjotkah information have strictly positive confidence, so unless you can prove that wrong (ie that they are 100% wrong), please, stop posting nonsense.
