I am having the same issue. Could please specify the file we need to edit? I looked at both "bootmenu.conf" and "android.ext.item" under "etc" but couldn't see a "^M" anywhere.

oh my god
i did your structure. but it hurt my internal memory(32gb)
now it say "memory corrupted"
even i cant take a picture.because there is no internal memory
how i can fix it????
