I have a N900 on pre-order with MPD and I have had £2.00 debited from my account yesterday.

I originally ordered on the 6th October and had £2 debited/credited then also. I chose T-Mobile.

I only pre ordered my n900 a few weeks ago on a voda tariff, hardly no emails or updates from MPD and just shows my status as "pending stock" (I have read prev post and I realise why.)

But as I have not ordered a mobile via internet before, what exactly is process.?? Do they get em in stock, do credit check etc and then despatch or do they "pre credit check" you before any stock arrives??...as no communication from MPD I am just confused. Makes me think maybe just wait till avail in shops....far easier - all doen n dusted there and then.
No money has been taken from my bank at all.. or Voda not do that? The credit check aint an issue as I have 1 O2 contract (iphone) and a t-mobile contract too... I aint bothered when handset arives as such, but just some clarification on how my order is progressing would be nice from MPD..
New here and great forum and info too... any help appreciated, cheers guys (n girls)

If you ordered the vodafone contract they will have done a credit check already. I know this because i contacted them via live chat to ask them wheather or not my order had been accepted as i noticed on my credit report voda had searched it.

I ordered a PAYG VF N900 - so I dont know where I stand with that, all i know was that it was much cheaper than Sim free at the time, and the Sim will go in the bin, lol

I hope that means I will get the thing next week. It was a bargain - their prices have shot up since.

hi, does anyone know if Nokia Winchester (operated by MPD) still has an N900 to test there?

Pay as you go should really have the same rules as sim free applied to it, i would be very surprised if you havent. Depending on when you ordered of course

Why? No credit check is needed as you arn't taking out credit so to speak? - you buy the phone at a price - and they hope you use the sim
